This qualification focuses on the supervision of operational viticulture production activities.
The qualification enables the student to supervise agri-business and agricultural practices in vine production.

Overview

The National Certificate in Viticulture will equip students with focused knowledge and skills in primary vine production. During the course, students can specialize in various viticulture production systems. Additional course content, designed by key industry players, is included to ensure students are exposed to the latest technology in industry developments.
After successful completion of the National Certificate in Viticulture, students can enrol for a National Diploma in Viticulture NQF 5.

Grade 10, with basic literacy in English at NQF 3 (40%)
Communication at NQF 2
Mathematical Literacy at NQF 2
Agricultural activities at NQF 3

Methodology

The National Certificate in Viticulture is offered as an exciting, blended presentation through e-learning, or attending classes as an extracurricular – or full-time resident student of VAMF.

Language policy

The official academic language is English, but the online Agri-pedia e-Learning platform has translation options into Afrikaans and many other indigenous and international languages.

Semesters and Class Times

The VAMF coincides with the official school and university semesters, vacations and public holidays.
Class times during normal working days last from 08H00 to 13H00 and 14H00 to 17H00
