Vine Academy and
Model Farm

The Vine Academy and Model Farm (VAMF) was developed out of a partnership between the Northern Cape Provincial Government and Raisins SA.

The purpose of the Academy is to address specific academic and skills challenges within the vine industry in South Africa.

The Vine Academy and Model Farm focus on the learners and surrounding communities to benefit them directly as a catalyst for sustainable growth and economic development within the agricultural sector.

The model farm offers students the opportunity to gain academic and practical skills in the vine industry in preparation for employment opportunities in the industry.

The academic value chain offers an opportunity for tertiary qualifications to students who do not have secondary education qualifications.

The industry contributes to scholarships for selected students to complete their high school career and further studies at the Vine Academy.

This world-class Vine Academy and Model Farm provides a skills development service that contributes to the promotion of sustainable farming practices.

The Academy is developed and supported by the agriculture sector with the aim of promoting previously disadvantaged individuals (PDIs) and the overall transformation of the industry.
